Omnifix® Silicone is a self-adhesive, skin-friendly fixation fleece for the secure fixation of wound dressings, compresses, catheters, or medical devices. It was developed especially for sensitive, fragile, or damaged skin and is suitable for use in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
The backing material consists of a flexible polyester fleece coated with a silicone adhesive layer. This layer is protected by an application film and allows for precise, controlled application. The silicone adhesion ensures reliable bonding to the skin without strong adhesion to the epidermis. This facilitates atraumatic and largely painless removal, which is particularly important when dressings need to be changed frequently.
The surface is waterproof yet permeable to water vapor. This helps protect the skin from external influences while allowing for natural moisture exchange. Omnifix® Silicone primarily serves to secure dressing materials and can also act as a mechanical barrier against external contamination.
The product is flexible, conformable, and suitable for various body regions. Due to its material properties, it can also be used on patients with increased skin sensitivity or special care needs.
