This innovative simulator for examining the human ear enables students and physicians to learn and refine key skills in ear examination. The model supports the diagnosis of common ear diseases, cleaning of the ear canal, removal of foreign bodies, and performing a tympanic membrane incision with tube insertion. The anatomically accurate simulator features a right and a left ear, which can be used for diagnostic and methodological exercises. Both ears are removable, allowing for easy cleaning and proper storage.
To realistically depict pathological conditions, the middle ear can be filled with different fluids. The color and consistency of the fluid can be individually varied, allowing for the practical simulation of various middle ear diseases. Nine diagnostic inserts with high-resolution color prints represent a multitude of typical findings, including middle ear infections and tympanic membrane perforations. The simulator is therefore suitable for structured otoscopy training as well as for basic ear surgery training.
The ear simulator is used in the medical training of students and doctors, in ENT training for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the middle and inner ear, and in simulation centers for training in otoscopic examinations and selected procedures.
The model features a realistic representation of both ears, anatomical precision, flexible simulation of middle ear diseases through fillable cavities, and a wide variety of diagnostic inserts. The removable ears facilitate handling, cleaning, and storage. The kit includes two ears, approximately 100 pre-made eardrums, special earwax, three standard middle ear inserts with syringe, an adjustable stand, and a carrying case.
