Melgisorb® from Mölnlycke with a size of 10 x 20 cm is a highly absorbent alginate wound dressing, suitable as both a compress and a dressing for deep, exuding wounds. Made from natural calcium-sodium alginate, the dressing reacts upon contact with wound exudate, forming a soft, malleable gel. This creates the so-called gel-block effect, which allows for optimal adaptation to the wound shape – no cutting is necessary.
Melgisorb® is particularly suitable for moderately to heavily exuding, even infected wounds, where high absorption capacity is required. It supports a moist wound environment and creates favorable conditions for healing.
