The 14-piece luxury demonstration skull from Erler-Zimmer is an anatomical teaching model for the detailed presentation of the structures of the human skull. The model is based on a cast of a real human skull and is designed for use in advanced training and teaching contexts.
The skull can be disassembled into a total of 14 individual parts. These include a removable skullcap, the nasal septum, and a removable temporal bone. The individual components are secured by metal and magnetic connections to allow for repeated assembly and disassembly during demonstrations.
The model provides insights into various anatomical areas, including the skull base, the nasal cavity with its conchae, the pharynx, and the middle ear. In the area of the cerebral vessels, venous sinus structures such as the sagittal, transverse, and sigmoid sinuses are color-coded. Additionally, selected vascular pathways are marked for better orientation.
The removable temporal bone reveals internal structures such as the inner ear, the cochlea, and the course of the facial nerve. The dentition includes visible tooth roots, the alveolar process, and relevant nerve pathways. The model is designed for the clear demonstration of complex craniomaxillofacial structures.
The demonstration skull is intended for use in medical, dental, and anatomical training, including in the fields of otolaryngology, surgery, and ophthalmology. It serves solely to illustrate anatomical relationships and is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications.
