These sterile swabs with Amies transport medium ensure reliable and precise microbiological sampling in practices and laboratories. The proven Amies medium effectively protects demanding pathogens (both aerobes and anaerobes) from drying out and ensures the survival of the pathogens even during several days of transport. This consistently maintains sample integrity until laboratory analysis and minimizes the risk of false-negative results.
The combination of a flexible, 131 mm long polystyrene shaft and a soft viscose head enables particularly gentle and patient-friendly sampling, even in hard-to-reach areas such as the nasopharynx. The individual packaging in a practical peel pack guarantees absolute sterility until the moment of use and supports contamination-free work in everyday medical practice.
After sampling, the swab can be safely stored in the robust transport tube (155 x 12 mm). The tightly closing blue cap prevents the medium from leaking and reliably protects medical personnel and logistics providers from contamination and infection risks during transport.
