The Ultrasound Trainer Dog Bladder is a highly specialized training model that faithfully reproduces the lower body of a medium-sized dog. It was developed to provide veterinarians and students with a practical platform for the ultrasound examination of the urinary tract. Since many bladder diseases show clinically similar symptoms, sonographic differentiation is crucial for correct treatment.
The system works with four different, externally identical inserts. This challenges the diagnostic skills of learners, as the respective pathology must first be identified by the ultrasound image. A special highlight is the possibility of cystocentesis: the simulator allows ultrasound-guided bladder puncture on a self-healing material, which enables realistic training of sample collection without risk to an animal.
